The parable of the Pokémon master

Just a little thought..

A few days ago in the YouTube comment section - under a video where Moses was being called an alien, which i replied that Moses was just a human that could hear God's voice, and i gave an explanation all people are able to do so - someone asked me about what does God speak to me... And i replied pretty straightforward as this was the first thing i felt in the Spirit: "He tells me that He loves you"

But this answer wasn't satisfying enough for the person.. he said these words 'God loves you' are being heard everywhere (which sounds to me that God actually speaks to him a lot btw, because before i knew Christ i never heard such words) but anyway, he wanted to hear more proof about 'what God was speaking to me', he wanted to hear me say something about himself that only God could know.

So i told him; if you want to know what God has to say to you then why don't you start reading the bible to begin with. (i knew he didn't read the bible yet, because if you don't know that God can speak to every person, you clearly have never read the bible, because the bible is full of testimonies about people who heard from God and even explains us how to speak with Him)
I also told him 'instead of asking other people like me to tell you what God has to say, ask God yourself to speak to you, because i am just a human like you, and besides that i am also a sinner, i am not some kind of holy man that i can let God speak on command whenever i want, and i am not more worthy to hear Gods voice than you are yourself.   The only difference might be that i asked God to speak to me and show me what was blocking my spiritual hearing from being able to hear the Holy Spirit speak.'

Then he replied with some arguments about the bible, saying: "I am not going to read all of that (Specially because OPS, You read the wrong interpretation of the Bible Now go read the others Hundred Interpretations Including the one protected by a Level 999 Mithril Golem)"

On that i answered with some explanation about how to find the right bible translation, because let's be honest, he has a point, and he is not the first one i encounter stating this argument. There are a lot of translations these days and some of them are a little bit off from the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures.
This fact has even resulted in many discussions amongst Christians themselves besides accusements from outsiders that our bible is not legit anymore.

Now today this suddenly came into my mind, and i think this clarifies about how a lot of young people are actually in it these days:
compare it with being a Pokémon master,   if you want to be a real Pokémon master, you should study the basics of the different Pokémon types and their weaknesses,    you can't just get into a Pokémon battle with a Bulbasaur and expect it to win from a Charmander because the Charmander is a fire type and the Bulbasaur is grass, and grass has a weakness against fire. Every trainer knows you could better choose for Squirtle in this case because that is a water type and is effective against fire.
So, you can see you have to do your research to become successful and in the Pokémon universe for this you have to study the so called Pokedex to get to know what all the types of the Pokémon are.
And besides that, you first actually want to make sure that you are playing the real Pokémon, and not some kind of rip-off.
Especially these days there are so many games and illustrations that are lookalike Pokémon's but in fact they aren't the real thing,  have you ever had your mother thinking she already bought a real Nintendo Pokémon-Gameboy for you, but it was just one of those cheap fake ripoff 99-games-in-one toys?

The same goes with the bible, the bible is like the manual of how to get a relationship with God, and yes nowadays there are indeed many different versions, and even rip-offs made by people who thought they could write a better version.  So you got to make really sure that you get the right one! But when you do some research it is not so hard. True fans can easily spot out the fake from the real.
Then there are also some official Pokémon games that have been released by the legit Nintendo company, that just aren't the same like the original games because they tried to make a  3D remake for example on their latest Switch console, but it just was not really having the same feeling and story like those original Gameboy games had.
So it is the same with all these new bible versions they make in 'simple to read' language.  Some of them might be easier to read, they look nicer, but they take away some of the power and atmosphere that God was speaking in.

Anyway, my point with this whole story is; if you want to know about who God is, then read the bible.    You can't just expect to hear and see everything from others without reading the bible yourself.           Don't be like that person who tries to become a Pokémon master but doesn't want to check the official pokedex.  :P

- you know what actually is ironic about this parable, that some years ago when Pokémon-go just released, the whole world was upside down, everyone walking outside with their phones, it was awesome, but a lot of Christians saw it like some kind of apocalyptical event happening, and a lot of them were saying things like Pokémon are demonic. Because of all the magic stuff happening in the series (these are being seen as demonic powers), but now you see that God can even use Pokémon to teach people something about Christ.
